We had the share menu at $75 pp which was totally over priced for what it was. The vegetables were extremely salty and we could not eat them. The meat was tough. The dessert of fresh fruit was nice.

I came to Darwin on a cruise ship and wanted to dine at a top rated restaurant prior to departing the port. Wharf One fitted my needs completely. From start to finish the service and attention to detail was impeccable. We had a lovely waitress whose knowledge of the menu and ingredients was impressive. I came to the top end to taste the real barramundi in all its forms. Whilst the overall dining experience could not be faulted my only regret is that the crispy skin barramundi was farmed locally which tends to be soft and “mushy” when cooked as opposed to the wild caught variety, which I find to be firm and much tastier. A restaurant of this caliber surely could provide wild caught Barra and use it to their advantage as a desirable menu item even with the increased price. All in all a great restaurant in need of a tweak to its seafood offerings.

We had the Chefs Tasting Menu which was very hit and miss - two of the courses were very average. The paprika calamari was so strongly seasoned (smokey) I could barely eat it and the melon meringue desert was average at best. Also the waitress spent lots of time at the table next to us chatting & entertaining the guests - we could tell as each time the gentleman at the table was in very loud fits of laughter which we found quite disruptive and broke the nice atmosphere.

We've been going to wharf one for years and have never been disappointed in the food, until now. The food was extremely bland and most dishes came out cold. On two occasions we ordered drinks/extras to a passing waitress and they never arrived. We ended up asking for our remaining cold mains and dessert to be taken away as we were so disappointed with the night.

LOvely meal of small plates...all very flavoursome, good sizes and good wine list to match. Service friendly and knowledgeable and really enjoyed the food.

About Wharf One Food & Wine

Darwin’s number one waterside destination The name is a pretty big giveaway, but yep, you guessed it, this restaurant offers water views of the lagoon and the Darwin Harbour. And they are pretty spectacular, by day and by night. The industrial decor is enough to make you go wow, before you set eyes on the view so make sure you take in both before deciding if you want to sit outside in the undercover alfresco area or inside in the air-conditioned dining room. Whether alone, in a group, or a party, Wharf One will make your dining experience one to remember. The menu showcases the best seasonal and local produce there is to offer, so sit back, relax and let your tastebuds and senses be ignited. Best dish: whole baby barramundi on the girll
