Felt like we had new staff serving us! Given sparkling wine in wine glass and had to ask for a spoon with pasta but food was great!

About Vasko Restaurant

An Italian Affair It’s a family affair at Vasko Restaurant in Ivanhoe. Vasko Dzanovski and his family bring passion and craft to the plate in this intimate Italian restaurant. Vasko Restaurant serves lunch and dinner in an inviting, stay-awhile atmosphere that lures you to linger over just one more glass of wine. The menu is minimal but well executed. Don’t pass up the classic bruschetta to start. You may have had bruschetta heaps of times, but patrons rave about the Vasko version. For an entrée you might delve into marinated and grilled octopus with a fresh radish and fennel salad, or perhaps chargrilled asparagus with roasted pancetta. The fresh and lively pastas and risottos include a mushroom, zucchini and spinach risotto topped with sage and white truffle oil, or delicate homemade ricotta gnocchi with a touch of pesto on a bed of Napoli. You can order from the grill too, taking your pick of the fish of the day, pork belly or “The Balkan” — a family specialty with pork and veal. Flavours are full here and the atmosphere is just right for good conversation. Did we mention the loukoumades? They’re a traditional Greek-style donut served with vanilla ice cream. Definitely worth a try. Best dish: Pork belly with crackling
