Fantastic professional service, our host had a thorough knowledge of the menu and nothing was too much trouble, the food was just brilliant. We went there to celebrate a special occasion and would happily dine at the stunned mullet again. The only reason I didn't give it a top rating for value is that it is an expensive restaurant but we'll worth it for a fantastic dining experience.

We have been eating at this restaurant since it opened. It is one of our favourite restaurants (Australia-wide) and we always dine here when visiting Port Macquarie, in fact we often stay overnight especially so we can eat here. Highly recommended for its food, amazing and different wine list and lovely owners and staff.

Meals were delicious, fresh, good quality ingredients and well thought and creative menu. I would suggest to keep the desserts a little more simple. And small 😉 Too much infusion of spices and nuts, on desserts , can trow a perfect meal , specially at night.

We were in town for three nights and were here for two of them. Spectacular. The prawn entree was fantastic, and the tooth fish was spectacular.

About The Stunned Mullet

Food to shock and awe Anyone who thinks the food in Port Macquarie isn’t world class needs to think again. The award-winning team behind The Stunned Mullet has gone from strength to strength in the decade since they opened, turning out fresh and exciting food for their large base of local (and visiting) fans. The menu is broken up into “the smalls”, “the substantials”, “the incidentals” (ie sides) and “the sweet stuff”, and you could quite honestly just pick a dish by pointing your finger at the menu without looking and know that you were going to be getting something delicious. After all, how can you go wrong with a line-up that includes grilled lobster tail with ajo blanco, green gazpacho and radish, as well as confit duck leg with truffled mash and sour cherry? Or put your meal in the hands of the producers by choosing the “Fishmonger’s Choice” for your main, which will be a piece of sustainable, line caught fish (chosen by the local fishmonger, of course) served with an olive and panko crust on a carrot and lemongrass puree. It will be so delicious you really will be left stunned. Best dish: smoked eggplant terrine
