We have been planning our honeymoon to Darwin for a good six weeks and Pearl and Co was on top of our “To Splurge” list. We were so looking forward to it. We arrived with lots of optimism. In short. The waitresses were lovely BUT the service was SO slow, the pâté was the equivalent of what you could buy from Woolworths served on unexciting crackers with some pickled vegetables - granted the fig jam was delicious, they ran out of ice at 6.30 and explained that their was only beer and wine for the remainder of the evening - cocktails or a simple gin and tonic were undoable. To be fair, they may of just been having a bad night. But given it was a Saturday night in the middle of dry season - for us it just wasn’t good enough and we left before ordering a full meal. We were so hoping for a special evening and were happy to spend our money but the first 30 minutes set the tone for a disappointing evening and so left before probably experiencing this venues full potential.

This is a delightful restaurant, small and intimate. The service from our Nepalese was excellent. We chose to share a few smaller dishes, mainly vegetarian and all were exceptional.

Tucked away in a quiet arcade, wonderful service, food, decor and atmosphere

I had dinner at Pearl last night with a group, the food was amazing as always, we all loved it & could not fault anything. The service was pretty poor though. A noticeable difference from normal. There seemed to be a lot of new staff. Waitstaff should know the menu & the wine list & be able to assist & recommend options. The food took ages to come out & it wasn’t that busy.

It was my birthday and it was lovely to have such a fuss made. I even had "Happy Birthday" sung to me in Portuguese (I think!) Lovely food - we had scallops (perfect), brussel sprouts, mushrooms and the charcuterie board. And of course dessert. All delicious. My husband left his jacket behind at the end of the evening, and remembering we had mentioned catching a bus, one of the waiters ran all the way to the bus stop to give it back. Now that's service!

Lovely brunch!

The food was disappointing and the wine list expensive. The service was excellent. Don't live in Darwin but wouldn't go back anyway.

Some pearls of wisdom. Nestled in the revamped sandstone building of Victoria Arcade is The Pearl, a Darwinian gem. After spending the morning at the nearby Smith Street Mall, unwind in The Pearl’s ultra cool surroundings - complete with dramatic feature walls dotted with vintage mirrors, a tiled bar and decadent pendant lamps. Locals regularly return for The Pearl’s silky smooth lattes and cold drip filter coffees as well as their delicious all day dining menu. You'll find everything form brekkie bubble and squeak to dinner time panfried garfish with ruby grapefruit, orange and mint. What more can we say, it's a pearler.
