We were seated upstairs, it was extremely loud and stuffy. The food was average and took a really long time to come out. As we were seated upstairs it was hard to get the waitresses attention so it was hard to order and get drinks and pay the bill.

I'm glad we went on a dimmi half price deal! It wasn't bad but I wouldn't rush back

Excellent food and cocktails as always. Just not the dedicated service we experienced last time. Last time we got detailed descriptions of the wine and cocktails as well as each ingredient of each of the amazing food.dishes - Thai time the food and drinks were just delivered. This makes a massive difference to the way you engage in the food

Great food but the upstairs dining room got very noisy when it got full.

Owner did not show care at all. Quite a disapponting experience actually. I would Hope that when a diner like me shows care and interest that an owner would at least show that , when the floor wasn't that busy

Food presentation and food was good. Unfortunately taste of food was at times brand. Two new of us had the dory which was overlooked. One person had the lamb which they said was very good.

About The Owl House

Have a hoot of a time Behind an unassuming red terrace door, on the Darlinghurst end of Crown Street, lies a neighbourhood watering hole that makes drinking at the ‘wrong’ end of Crown Street a much more pleasant affair. Downstairs, happy patrons crowd around the long narrow bar sipping cocktails under the oversized, naked light bulbs. Mingling with others, or even with owners Amir Halpert and Paul Loulli is not uncommon at this compact eatery so be prepared for bar banter and story trading if you enter this little local. Bar snacks such as smoked bone marrow and oxtail croquettes, and marinated Sicilian olives go down a treat. Or you can choose to dine upstairs on the second level, where things are a little more diner-friendly, and not such a tight squeeze. The best seats in the house are unquestionably up on the intimate balcony, which seats a party of four. But no matter where you sit at The Owl House, you’re sure to have one hoot of a time. Hoot, hoot! Best dish: smoked bone marrow and oxtail croquette
