Cocktails are exquisite, oysters are fresh and delish and the gnocchi is an absolute must!

It's awesome to see a place doing something different - who wouldn't want a degustation paired with cocktails? Can't say i felt 100% safe on the top floor (due to people to floor space ratio), but thoroughly enjoyed my heartily poured cocktails and accompanying food. Only constructive feedback is perhaps a tad more food to mop up the alcohol? I was sadly ravenous after the cocktail degustation!

It's neat, cute and cozy. The bar is a cool hang out. The restaurant is trendy and cool and the food is very delicious. The presentation is of a top notch restaurant.

Second time here in a month, came for drinks with friends before dinner. Shared bread rolls - house made and gorgeously warm, with olive oil and dukka, and a cheeseboard. Our waitress was lovely, and although mixed up one of our drink orders, was very accommodating for all our other drink requests! Cocktails were delicious!

Small setting would sugguest sitting upstairs for more room. Nice drinks and interesting menu. Friendly attentive staff.

About The Owl House

Have a hoot of a time Behind an unassuming red terrace door, on the Darlinghurst end of Crown Street, lies a neighbourhood watering hole that makes drinking at the ‘wrong’ end of Crown Street a much more pleasant affair. Downstairs, happy patrons crowd around the long narrow bar sipping cocktails under the oversized, naked light bulbs. Mingling with others, or even with owners Amir Halpert and Paul Loulli is not uncommon at this compact eatery so be prepared for bar banter and story trading if you enter this little local. Bar snacks such as smoked bone marrow and oxtail croquettes, and marinated Sicilian olives go down a treat. Or you can choose to dine upstairs on the second level, where things are a little more diner-friendly, and not such a tight squeeze. The best seats in the house are unquestionably up on the intimate balcony, which seats a party of four. But no matter where you sit at The Owl House, you’re sure to have one hoot of a time. Hoot, hoot! Best dish: smoked bone marrow and oxtail croquette
