About The National Hotel

A Cut above Pub Grub Taking a stroll along the Fremantle coffee strip? Why not stop for lunch or dinner at the magnificent National Hotel on the corner of Market and High Street. Before you go in, step back across the street and check out the stunning renovation job. The old Veranda catches the Fremantle breezes so it’s ideal for a warm summer’s day. If you decide to take advantage of the air con and sit inside, the decor will take you back to the gold rush days but the menu is as modern as it gets. There’s a great range of tapas style dishes (check out the Buffalo Wings with blue cheese, or the Jalapenos stuffed with Truffle Mac). If you go for a main make sure you try the hand cut chips. We have it on good authority that they are the best in Freo. With a great wine list, genuinely considerate service, you’re guaranteed a treat at the National. Best dish: Pork Belly and Cider Apple Fondant with black pudding
