Service was very slow, as there were only two staff members when we arrived Our food came out one by one, which was ridiculous considering there were only 5 orders for our table

Happy hour drinks should be improved as the specials are still quite expensive

Again very good but they could do with a few more staff

Great food and drinks. It was easy for a big group as food is ordered separately from the bar. The staff were also extremely accommodating. The live music was amazing, but the music played after his set was far too loud and you couldn't even hear the person next to you.

Food was yum but differed from what was stated on the menu.

Apparently, due to change of chef 3 weeks ago, the food quality has gone down the drain. Tasteless parma. Frozen, microwaved and over-fried fish. Such a shame. Used to love this place!

Good pub feed with drinks and music. That's it. Greasy tempura battered fried haloumi should be removed from the menu.

Great place to hang out with mates for after work drinks. Cheap daily specials and pretty decent food for what you pay for. Only thing I would not recommend is the mushroom burger. I don't know how a place could get a veggie burger so wrong, but the patty was just not good at all. Everything else was enjoyable and service was pleasant.

Enjoyed the tapas dishes, friendly service and cheap happy hour drinks.

About The Imperial South Yarra

Reign Supreme Beauty is a key currency on Melbourne’s Chapel Street, with The Imperial having plenty to spend thanks to its striking interior décor. The large glass windows at the front of the bar also enable you to enjoy the best game in town – people watching. The Imperial South Yarra is an iconic bar, restaurant and function venue with a full a la carte menu and an impressive drinks list. After a hard day (or week!), head to The Imperial to catch up over a drink and some tapas. In summer, we share a jug of the ‘Pirate Punch’: Captain Morgan spiced rum, Malibu rum, peach monin, orange and pineapple juice. Try this with semolina fried salt and pepper calamari. On a winter’s night when the footy is playing on the overhead TV, opt for the White Rabbit dark ale, grilled saganaki and chicken skewers. After something more hearty? The Imperial delivers with its burgers – beef, crispy chicken or soft shell crab – steak sandwiches, chicken parmas and many other traditional favourites. Open every day of the week from midday until late, we suggest you pull out your glad rags for a great meal out on one of Melbourne’s most dynamic streets. Best dish: chicken taco
