Great food and atmosphere, jazz band playing too (on a Sunday!). Took very long time for desserts to come out, otherwise great.

The Horn is a local favourite of mine. Love the vibe here. The banquet is the way to go! The flavours are so mouth-watering, moorish and comforting. The servings are so generous too - I regret that I can never finish it all!

No heating as it was freezing inside, no live entertainment like promised on the website with live music and orders when taken not delivered on the table. Slow and poor services overall, which is highly disappointing to our entire table on the night.

Friendly service, lovely and filling food, and the experience of using the injera to eat with your hands is fun.

About The Horn African Cafe

Eat (With Your Hands), Drink and Be Merry You wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to eat delicious food with your hands, would you? You’ll want to dive right in (with your right hand, mind you) when you go to The Horn African Café and Restaurant in Collingwood. Opened by Peter Harper and his wife, Enushu, in 2007, The Horn is more than just dining—it’s an experience. Authentic and modern Ethiopian cuisine is served in a relaxed, easy-going environment that’s perfect for a group of friends or a first date. There’s a courtyard that’s great for warm nights and lazy Sunday afternoons, plus The Horn frequently has live music, including Ethiopian jazz, funk and hip hop on Sundays. Sample the large range of African beers and dig into a unique and tasty meal. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, and there’s even gluten free injera bread along with gluten free meals. The lamb is a favourite among locals in the know, as is the sesame coated chicken entrée (zil zil). Vegetarians will have plenty to choose from, including red lentil stew, a potato and spinach dish and more. The best bet is to bring a group and try it all. Best Dish: lamb stew
