We had a trainee service person...every question we asked had to be checked with someone else. Not very professional for this level of fine dining. Disappointing but did not detract from the great food. Had a Armagnac which arrived in a glass tilted over another glass containing warm water(?). Bit of a wank, but the Armangnac was very good.

Bit disappointing that 2 of the wines we ordered were unavailable. Another was. Ought out and recommended and sold for the price of the first to, however apon checking the bill the next day, it was charged at double the price! Not really good enough as that should have been dealt with straight away. Food and service were nice though and the building has great atmosphere.

Spectacular food and service. Absolute must do when in Launceston.

Breakfast or brunch here is always good and the views over the water are lovely, no matter the weather, and especially gorgeous if it's sunny. Do yourself a favour and order an Almond Milk Chai tea with honey - it's delicious. The eggs Benedict are good and don't forget to order a side of the potatoes. There's also a providore upstairs if you want to buy some supplies. Limited parking at the rear.

Extremely poor wine list for the quality of this restaurant - small, limited choice and absurdly over priced. Nobody minds paying for quality wines but to be blindly ripped off isn't a good look.

Stillwater was a standout experience first visit 11 years ago and did not disappoint this time around. Fantastic produce, highlighting Tassie fare and cooked beautifully. The chicken breast with parsnip mousse and buerre noisette was sensational. Great location too- if you are coming to Launceston, be sure to put it on your list! Love it.

Had fantastic degustation dinner at Stillwater with matched wines. Highly recommend for any visitor to Launceston - a must dine experience.

The degustation dinner was excellent in parts, steak tartare delicious, but it did not come up to expectations with the scallops in squid broth. As a special meal for my wife's birthday the ambience lacked the intimacy that I'd hoped for.
