It was just ok. Food was so-so, not much selection. Cocktails were nice though!

At the Prahran end of Chapel St, this kitchen bar offers a well priced menu with some tasty options. Food was rated 4/5: the chicken burger was very well cooked with a great flavour from the dill mayo and mustard. Veg burger was super tasty, with very generous amounts of haloumi. Drinks were the let down: no beer or cider taps were working and many of the bottle options were unavailable. Service was friendly and efficient. Outdoor courtyard was lovely and warm on a cold winters day. Great place, though when we return I hope the drink taps are working!

Amazing setup. Perfect for a summer evening with great food and atmosphere. Waiters I thought were a little intrusive. Seemed to push u to place ur order.

We went for lunch therefore did not buy drinks Had I been on holidays or a weekend I would have loved a wine with my meal. Menu was good however would have been nice to have the breakfast menu go into lunch time as many items on it were preferable choices to us. Fab venue with the outside courtyard

Great big beer garden at the back of the restaurant. Had a good range of tapas to share. Main menu looks delicious too. Will definitely go back to try more dishes and take advantage of the beer garden whilst it's still warm!

About Speakeasy Kitchen Bar

Our lips are sealed Created as a nod to the speakeasy culture of illegal drinking dens set-up during America’s prohibition era, Speakeasy (now completely legal) hasn’t been much of a well-kept secret. This diner quickly sparked the interest of locals and businesses and it's packed out most nights. The small entrance – a three metre wide shopfront on Chapel Street – is a deceptive one. As you move through the space, a smart dining room and large outer-terrace reveal themselves. The menu has a Modern-Australian/American style vibe with plenty of choice. If you’re there with a group go for one of the sharing platters before ordering a solo chocolate mousse for dessert. The unspoken rule at Speakeasy that you must have a drink at all times - try their signature ‘Summer Speakeasy”: watermelon muddled with tromba blanco tequila & soho lychee liqueur, topped off with blueberries & lemonade to kickstart your night. Best Dish: any of the burgers.
