Had the scotch fillet steak which was just ok and the desserts base was over cooked. Atmosphere in the open air alfresco area is really nice and the staff are very attentive.

Went on a Wednesday, so a relatively quiet night in the dead of winter. But the staff were friendly, the food and drinks great. Would love to head back in summer when the roof is open!

We went to SpeakEasy for brunch for the first time. We were looking for a place central to us and Chapel St was it. We were not dissapointed. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious and the serve sizes were perfect for the occassion. We all ordered different things off the menu. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the dining area was filled with natural light. Would definitely go back.

I love their outdoor eating area with their bar which had delicious drinks. This is a great place to drink outside enjoying the weather. The food wasn't bad too, their flavours were original. I enjoyed the scotch fillet. Definitely worth a try!

The absolute worst chicken burger I have ever had. Nice alfresco area. Would only go for drinks.

Food was really good, wine was quite expensive for what it was. We have had breakfast here as well which was also really yummy. Think it's quite an undiscovered gem!

About Speakeasy Kitchen Bar

Our lips are sealed Created as a nod to the speakeasy culture of illegal drinking dens set-up during America’s prohibition era, Speakeasy (now completely legal) hasn’t been much of a well-kept secret. This diner quickly sparked the interest of locals and businesses and it's packed out most nights. The small entrance – a three metre wide shopfront on Chapel Street – is a deceptive one. As you move through the space, a smart dining room and large outer-terrace reveal themselves. The menu has a Modern-Australian/American style vibe with plenty of choice. If you’re there with a group go for one of the sharing platters before ordering a solo chocolate mousse for dessert. The unspoken rule at Speakeasy that you must have a drink at all times - try their signature ‘Summer Speakeasy”: watermelon muddled with tromba blanco tequila & soho lychee liqueur, topped off with blueberries & lemonade to kickstart your night. Best Dish: any of the burgers.
