Food was great, everything was fresh. Service was excellent. For me the dragon egg was a little diaspointing. It had too much going on. I just don't understand the hype on social media. It must be cos it looks pretty.

I dined at Saki Double Bay Saturday night at 6:45pm. I was extremely happy with the food but really unhappy that I was dining at a Japanese restaurant and wasn't given side bowls for my table for the soy sauce. When I glanced around at the other tabels I noticed every other table was given bowls and I was extremely disatisfied that my tabel was missed. I finally recieved the bowls at the end of my dining experience when I had to make a point to the staff about this. Also my friend doesn't use chop sticks and she told the waiter to take hers away when I wasn't paying attention. I on the other hand can't eat without my chop sticks so when the food came out I had to yell out again constantly to try to get a waiter or waitressers attention to ask for chop sticks. This took a while and was a stressful experience. I left a $10 cash tip after paying a $150 bill on my card but I was highly displeased about these things.

Wow, looks like Sake has gone downhill. Used to be great creative food and good value, but the new menu is a bit unimaginative and significantly overpriced for what it is. It's like they kept the big hits and turned the rest into meh Japanese with a few weird twists. The nigiri were tiny and not all fresh. The popcorn shrimp had been downgraded from real shrimp to offcuts, and the batter was claggy. Who does Brussel sprouts with Kimchee as Japanese, seriously? Dessert menu has similarly become unimpressive. Service was rather hit and miss too. Got a feeling the best days of Sake are now well behind it, sadly. It was fantastic back in January.
