Amazing view, right on the beach and the interior is also lovely. Service was perfect - friendly and attentive. Only let down was the pork was dry.

This is such a wonderful local restaurant. The service and food are consistently very high with a beautiful unobstructed view of the bay.

The most beautiful view, food and atmosphere as always. Staffs are always attentive and lovely. We told them it’s our anniversary and they gave us champagne🥂 Best beach front dining in Melbourne.

About Sails on the Bay

Watch the World Sail By Oh, the view. We can’t get enough of the sweeping views from Sails on the Bay, which sits on Elwood’s foreshore. Thanks to enormous windows just a meter from the sand, guests can daydream to their hearts content while gazing at the bay. But the ocean theme isn’t only outside. Sails on the Bay embraces its location with nautical-style décor and light touches that make the restaurant appear ready to sail away. Cuisine here is modern Australian, erring on the side of fine dining. True to its name, Sails on the Bay features heaps of seafood on its menu. There maybe a seafood ceviche to share or freshly shucked oysters served with panzanella salad to start. Main options may include yellow fin rare tuna or salt water barramundi. Leave room for dessert — the options are beyond tempting. Dark chocolate with coffee ice cream, coconut lamington with raspberry sorbet, vanilla and peach mousse — we just might order dessert first next time. Why not? Best dish: Yellow fin tuna
