Food was wonderful and well explained before each course. The wine matching was a must do for most of our table of 8. Great night!

Nice atmosphere, great lounge bar and cocktails, but food and service could of been so much better! Overall, we didn't enjoy the dinner. Stuff wasn't friendly and 5 courses menu was quiet average. We liked only 2 dishes out of 5. I would not recommend. P.s. my fav dishes! Photos attached

Ingrediants were not the same - far less sashimi replaced with cut up apple - not impressed Waiter put us in the lobby as opposed to the dining room - even though we paid for 3 persons a 9 course meal

This was a return visit and didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and not pretentious. Gladly and proudly explained the food. The 9 dishes we had were delicate, delicious and beautifully presented. We loved the theatre of the desert. The wines were wonderfull and reasonably priced. We will be back again next year. keep up the great work.

Poor service, poor value for money. Out of all of the Chef hatted and Michelin Star restaurants we have eaten at world wide, Room 81 was the least enjoyable. Highly disappointed, poorly trained staff, different menu on the night than listed on their website, poor wine pairing, three fish dishes in a 9 course meal (although they were presented well). At $250 per head we expect more. The meals were nice though, yet far from the standard of other chef hatted establishments.

About Room 81

A degustation journey that will excite and intrigue... It’s hard to beat the combo of a sleek European-designed interior and a fancy Modern Australian menu – but this is where the luxurious Room 81 in the Sofitel Gold Coast is heading! Come and take part in the incredible degustation experience that encompases an array of mouth-watering dishes that highlight Chef Sam Moore’s honest approach to cooking. Each tasty morsel comes with an intriguing tale about its inception and motivation which only enhances the theatrics of the whole dining experience. The menu is robust, complex and always exciting and you can opt for five, seven or nine courses - this will be a meal that you'll never forget. Best dish: krobuta pork jowl, elderflower, blueberries.
