Wonderful lunch location in the Hunter Valley, with the beautiful produce and attentive service matching the views over the vineyard and mountains. Can't wait to return.

We loved our special in house lunch. We were fortunate enough to be staying for the weekend at spicers resort. It’s classy and sophisticated. Beautiful live music playing on Sundays . Excellent wine list and surprising menu that is full of flavours and the wow factor. Totally enjoyed.

Food is beautifully fresh and exquisitely presented. The pricing is very reasonable and there are wine options at every level. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hunter Valley.

The flavours in the food were amazing, and the wine I chose was beautiful; dessert was to die for. Felt a bit let down with my main; Veal with chocolate sauce, tasted great, though I normally would not eat that much meat in one go, there wasn't enough to soften the amount of meat on the plate.

The a la carte 2 course and 3 course options are great value for the quality of food you can select from. The mains and dessert were my favourite selections. The beverage menu is extensive and creative. The amuse bouche was a delightful surprise as was the sweet after dinner confectionery. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous restaurant, fabulous food incl complimentary amuse bouche from chef (thank you chef!), great service, catered for our 2 children, Atmosphere sadly lacked...music, ambiance...it was dark too so no views seen...

About Restaurant Botanica

Regional best After 30 years working around the world (including stints running the successful catering arms of the Sydney Opera House and Rockpool) chef Mark Stapleton has settled down in Pokolbin with Restaurant Botanica, much to the delight of locals. This award-winning eatery is everything a good regional restaurant should be. Inventive enough to be interesting but consistent enough to guarantee you’ll get an excellent meal. Stapleton takes full advantage of local producers and winemakers, and the freshness is evident on the plate. Depending on how hungry you are, you can try the 5 course signature menu, or pick from the well-priced a la carte list. Either way, you will get to try tasty (and colourful) treats like salad of watermelon and grilled beetroot with quail egg, pancetta, macadamia, watercress and caramelised verjus, orbeef cheek ravioli with cauliflower, bacon and sauce bourguignon to start. The main course options are just as vibrant, with the Mandagery Creek venison with sweet potato, goats curd and pea pesto a stand out option. Finish with home-made rocky road or caramelised popcorn, or a little wedge of local cheese. Best dish: slow-cooked pig cheek
