Loved it! The tasting menu was definitely the way to go it was one of the best I’ve had! The standout for me was the squid ink pasta with cuttlefish but the beetroot came a close second! Oh I forget those gorgeous Brussel sprouts! The service was excellent with the waiters being really helpful and non-judgemental of our second bottle of wine! I will definitely go back!

My only criticism of the lovely menu is very limited options for vegetarians. I am vegetarian and only one small plate and one larger plate that weren’t seafood or meat.

We really enjoyed our meals here. The foods - should i say are rustic, and Mediterranean influenced. They are simple, tasty and speaks for themselves. They brought back memories of our tour of southern Italy. The sardine was yummy. The lamb neck was tender, well seasoned. The squid ink pasta was tasty, the grilled (?) squid was fresh and sweet cooked to perfection. If anything, the pasta was a little bit over cooked to my liking. Anyway my partner didn't mind it. The wine list was interesting, with a good selection of decent wines by the glass. The flourless almond cake was really good, it well balanced, and not overly sweet. Last but not least, the service was warm, friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back for more.

Impeccable service matched with excellent food. Stand out dishes included salmon tartare, char grilled asparagus, and the best tiramisu I’ve ever had! Really relaxed atmosphere that allows you to focus on the dining experience with simple, flavour packed dishes. Highly recommend the “feed me” menu.

Had a great evening overall. We ordered the sardines, olives, ox tongue, lamb and cheese spoia lorda, pork & fennel ragu. The highlight was definitely the sardines, handmade pasta and sourdough bread!! Great service standards. Definitely a neighbourhood gem.

This was our first visit to Pinotta and it will not be our last. Everything was great - food was excellent, service attentive - a very enjoyable experience. My only disappointment is that it took us so long to try this restaurant - a real gem!!

About Pinotta

Take a trip to Florence Found in Fitzroy’s North Village, this is the kind of trattoria that you would find in the backstreets of Florence. It’s got that local, intimate and hands-on feel about it. The food is honest, seasonal and European. Think handmade pasta, slow braises, oxtail, carpaccio and fresh whole fish. It’s unfussy and fresh. Owned by Heidi Modra, Pinotta's blackboard menu changes a few times a week and is predominately Italian, with a few French touches. There’s also a strong foucs on wine, with over forty different types available. Modra runs front of house and loves her wine. She’ll happily open a bottle if someone wants to try a glass so be bold and try something unusual. Pop into Pinotta for a decent drop and a quality meal. You’ll love it.
