Take a trip to Florence Found in Fitzroy’s North Village, this is the kind of trattoria that you would find in the backstreets of Florence. It’s got that local, intimate and hands-on feel about it. The food is honest, seasonal and European. Think handmade pasta, slow braises, oxtail, carpaccio and fresh whole fish. It’s unfussy and fresh. Owned by Heidi Modra, Pinotta's blackboard menu changes a few times a week and is predominately Italian, with a few French touches. There’s also a strong foucs on wine, with over forty different types available. Modra runs front of house and loves her wine. She’ll happily open a bottle if someone wants to try a glass so be bold and try something unusual. Pop into Pinotta for a decent drop and a quality meal. You’ll love it.
