A sight for sore eyes… Pilu offers the best of both worlds: vibrant, thrilling, sunshiny flavours from chef Giovanni Pilu’s Sardinian homeland, combined with some irresistible Sydney sand and surf. This award winning Italian restaurant set on Freshwater Beach is a sight for sore eyes. Walk up the stairs of the grand weatherboard beauty and you’ll feel like you’re visiting your friend's beach house for dinner. Sit down in the window seat with point blank views of the beautiful beach with some crumbed smoked eel balls with baby mussels and you’ll quickly remember that you’re in the very capable hands of Pilu himself, with his years of expertise and modern flair making its way into each and every dish. Pilu has character and charm but oozes warmth and comfort. The desserts are almost as breathtaking as the views so do yourself and favour and order the corbezzolo honey mousse, spiced sponge, roasted macadamias and a Sardinian beer sorbet. It will be true icing on the cake after a memorable meal and superb service. Best dish: corbezzolo honey mousse.
