Whilst at the higher end of the price bracket for a mid week family dinner. It certainly did not disappoint! The 5 course menu was sublime, and they catered to our allergy requests, with only a days notice, with individual menus. We opted for wine pairing, which was fantastic and added to the experience. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone for a special occasion, fine dining experience, or who simply loves food.

Amazing food as usual. Degustation was a bit different this time with choices of two mains throughout. Although nice, I did much prefer the old way.

Delicious food - although the portions were tiny. Loved the decor and views. Generous and delicious wine pairings. Service was excellent although we waited far too long for the bill after dessert.

We had the project menu and were celebrating our wedding anniversary, where we had held our own wedding reception 9 years ago. The lounge for pre dinner drinks looked tired and its seating areas seemed dirty looking. We feel a revamp is needed. Our pre dinner drinks a scotch and a half glass of NV Bollinger were charged at a premium price and we thought not value for money. We ordered the matched wines with our meal and also the 2010 Grange. A positive was we felt the sommelier and waiting staff knowledgeable. I found a fish bone in the small piece of whiting and could not finish the dish. The server took my fish bone back to the kitchen and then advised us that the chef was sorry however no offer of another dish, drink or reduction of price. We were sadly disappointed by the evening - and feel the restaurant is not nearly as classy or award winning as it once was.

Absolutely stunning. Booked for lunch and did not realise the stature of the restaurant. In the top 10 of Australian Restaurants 2018 and definitely did not disappoint. Food and wine were faultless. Impeccable food and service. Could not recommend highly enough for those willing to spend a little extra for a special occasion.

Waiter kept refilling water glasses even though not requested. This add on became expensive and was not really agreed to ie 2 lsrge bottles of water that were not ordered. A sneaky way of doing things.

Cheers to Magill Estate! You’ll know Penfolds by reputation of course, the Aussie wine brand is known far and wide, but did you know they had a restaurant on site? Housed on the beautiful Penfolds property, surrounded by rolling hills covered in winding grape vines is Magill Estate Restaurant, a premium Modern Australian venue dedicated to inventive flavours, aromas and textures. Produce is sourced from the surrounding areas and the menu changes with the seasons. The restaurant’s vision is to share clean and natural cuisine that has a complex base and yet is never complicated on the plate or palate. The kitchen is run by Scott Huggins, who churns out dishes like quail cooked over charcoal, Laura Hills lamb with eggplant, and crab with tomato & horseradish. Trust us when we say, this venue is an unmissable dining experience. Best dish: we can’t decide!
