Not cheap, but very, very good. Too many highlights but the Sangria is a must and the stuffed peppers and beef cheeks both need a call out too.

Great tasting food with attentive service and nice atmosphere. Definitely will return to try the other delicious sounding dishes on the menu. .

No complaints! Food was excellent, wine good, service was there when we needed it.

Had beef cheeks and orange cheesecake which were very nice. Serves were quite large and would be good value at full price, (I paid half price). Service was good though I was the only one there at the time.

The food was good but heavy, and probably not quite what we were expecting. Everything just missed the mark in some way, we enjoyed the empanadas the most but even they seemed a bit hard and hard to cut through.

About Peasant

Old World Spanish Dining If you like simple, rustic food with a Spanish twist, Peasant delivers. Located at Paddington’s rejuvenated former police barracks complex, this eatery is part of the new wave of informal restaurants popping up in Brissie that are doing great stuff with fine ingredients. Peasant is a nod to the wine bars of Barcelona, Seville, Madrid and Buenos Aires, with an old world Spanish feel. The low-lit space features a quirky, moody interior with long, timber communal tables, hand painted murals and eclectic furnishings. From tables for two in the garden dining room to communal tables indoors suited to larger, more rowdy kind of diners, Peasant is suitable for different kinds of dining occasions. The honest, rustic tapas and shared dishes offer a culinary tour of Spanish flavours and we just loved the sweet, smoky chorizo fried with piquant harissa and golden crisp slices of waxy potato. The Achilles heel? At times the lack of customer focus can let Peasant down, but staff do shine when called upon to interpret the blackboard menu or wine list. We have excellent spaces for large groups and private functions.
