We got a groupon on the value was definitely Italy amazing we got to try nice dishes and they were all tastey... Lots of potatoes though with both hot chips and garlic roast potatoes... A bit cold in l the restaurant especially the back but we went for a friends bday and she had a great time. Would go back, food was flavourful and sangria was delicious.!

I went there for lunch and ordered the Spanish breakfast. The Spanish salsa was extremely good, however, the portion was rather small. I wish there were more bread and chorizo.

The service was great however the food was underwhelming. The chicken, meatballs and spuds were good however we didn't finish the rest. I get the impression they're trying to do it on the cheap as the sauces were from a bottle and the mushrooms were from a tin. It's a shame as its a cute place with lovely service.

It was a wonderful experience, food was magnificent. OMG the Paella was so good and authentic, felt like, I am in Spain. My wife had seafood plater and she loved it. The wine menu is good with some very nice South American and Italian wine. They also have South American beer call Cusquena. Service was great, friendly and helpful. The candle light and fish tank make the atmosphere romantic. Those freshly cooked hot churros was perfect desert in that cold night. Prices was very reasonable. I highly recommended. Definitely will go back for another dinner.

Food: ingredients were on the verge of going stale except for the mussels which were definitely expired. It was a disrespect to paying customers and the ingredients and reflects a profound lack of integrity of the kitchen. Service: we were served fried potatoes that we had not ordered, which was mistaken for "fish and chips". Not sure where the communication broke down there. No apologies whatsoever. Atmosphere: the restaurant was empty with a full pub directly next door. We now know why. The music was loud and penetrating which starkly contrasted the quieter tones of the restaurant decor. This is not how we remembered this restaurant to be. The cheap multicoloured fairy lights strung across the ceiling was out of place. Would not be returning even for a free meal.

About Patagonian Toothfish

Tango with Your Tastebuds This handsome little place set up at the end of a row of terraces on Charmers Street in Redfern prides itself on offering some of the tastiest South American food in the district. This being a converted house, you can sit in one of the quirky little dining rooms inside or, at the right time of year, you can take advantage of a balmy Sydney summer evening by taking the al fresco option and joining the vibrant street life of Redfern. Patagonian Toothfish has an exciting range of Latin American-style tapas including Pulpitos a la Plancha, which is char-grilled baby octopus marinated in tomato and barbecue sauce, as well as Croquettas de jamon, a creamy mixture of potatoes, jamon and Spanish herbs, rolled in bread crumbs, lightly fried and served with aioli. If you’re after something more substantial they serve a very popular paella, consisting of blue swimmer crab, prawns, squid, mussels, chorizo and chicken in saffron Jasmine rice. Best dish: Patagonian Breakfast.
