Fantastic service and wait staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food was amazing, so tasty and perfectly portioned as described by the wait staff. Also thought it was reasonably priced considering the food that we the amount and quality of food received. Overall, I would be giving Pastuso 10/10

What a fantastic change of pace! This is one of Melbourne's top restaurants but with a menu to rival those at the top by its variety. Their selection of ceviches and tartar are not to be missed, and their Peruvian themes and spices make it truly unique. The location in a top Laneway make it it very Melbourne, too. Also a great wine list! Service was very good by Australian standards. Can be a bit dark as it is set low in a back alley, but this adds to the intimacy.

Really good evening. Interesting food. The main course lamb was outstanding. Sharing the different dishes allowed us to taste a wide variety of the menu and we really enjoyed it.

South American with finesse in a classic lane way location. Attentive staff. A range of food choices depending on your mood for one or to share. If not already probably destined to be an icon of the scene. Peruano ceviche to die for.

About Pastuso

Peruvian perfection at Pastuso Walk down the end of AC/DC Lane in Melbourne and you’ll instantly know that you’re heading somewhere special. Cruise past the famous Cherry Bar and out pops Pastuso, a restaurant with a real buzz that’s dedicated to serving mod Peruvian food. Order the beautifully textured flamed Crystal Bay prawns to start and you’ll be contemplating seconds after only one bite. A special mention has to go to the Pollo a la braza (roasted Peruvian chicken) that’s slow-cooked after a lengthy bath in a brine-like sauce (a fusion of cumin, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, coriander and Sichuan pepper). But it’s not just the food that’s kicking serious goals, the fit of fit-out is spot on too with a riot of colourful nca-inspired floor tiles, contemporary neon posters and melty, Dali-esque light fittings. If you’re in the city and looking for a feed, it would be silly not to check out Pastuso. Best dish: Pollo a la braza (roasted Peruvian chicken) that’s slow-cooked after a lengthy bath in a brine-like sauce (a fusion of cumin, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, coriander and Sichuan pepper).
