About Nineteen23

Eating in another era Sometimes the pace of modern life catches up with you and you want to get away – all you need to do is visit Nineteen23. This charming little restaurant is located in a stunning country house in Wentworth Falls (that was built in 1923, hence the name) and it harks back to an earlier, more refined era. The chefs boast an impressive pedigree that includes working in some of Sydney’s top restaurants (Tetsuya’s, Wildfire, Rockpool) and they offer either a five or seven course tasting menu, as well as an a la carte menu, all made from seasonal and locally sourced produce. Start off with a classic cocktail such as a Kir Royale or a Martini before moving in to dinner. The menus change regularly, but expect fresh and delicious options such as burrata and heirloom tomato salad, sashimi of ocean trout or five spice rubbed pork. The country house, Silvermere, also offers beautiful accommodation options, so you can always make a weekend of it. Best dish: Grilled peach mille feuille with peach vanilla cream and lemon buttermilk sorbet
