Wonderful food, service and ambience. It simply doesn't get any better than this, and is why we keep coming back (and will continue to do so).

Very good and pleasant dining. Had a very good experience. Maybe a bit somkey due to the cooking style but I was fine with that.

Food, wine and views are great however our waitress was incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. Really put a dampener on the whole experience.

The variety of dishes and flavour combinations are really delightful. All plates are designed to share which is really good allowing us to try each of the dishes. The barramundi was absolutely delicious and the desserts were a perfect end to he meal. We’ll be recommending Montalto to all our friends.

Great quality food that was really well prepared, very tasty wine too. What makes this place though is the amazing views and the sculpture gallery too. A good place to go with some friends for a long lunch and walk.

Lovely lunch with great range of options including vegetarian. Lovely wine to accompany meal. Cellar door can be visited before to decide which wine to select. Post-meal wander through the sculpture garden. Everything was delicious and service was excellent.

About Montalto

Food and views that feed the soul With expansive decks, abundant vegetable and herb gardens, vines and orchards, there is plenty to feast your eyes on at Montalto. There’s beauty everywhere you look. Eat at the casual piazza and Garden cafe, and get stuck into one of their cracking pizzas with a bottle of red, perch yourself around the grounds for a private catered picnic, or treat yourself to fine fare in the restaurant. The glass facade of Montalto’s modernist building frames a view of the rolling vineyards, and it’s all fine food and silver service inside. Each palate pleasing dish is an artistic blend of flavour and technique; scallop boudin graced by a gentle bacon and shiitake foam and rich flavoured rabbit terrine seasoned by pistachio butter and served with to-die for house made walnut bread are just some of the cutting edge culinary creations served up in these gorgeous grounds. One thing’s for sure, Montalto offers food that feeds the senses, and views that feed the soul. Make the trip out of Melbourne, and down to Red Hill for a roam around Montalto. Best dish: rich flavoured rabbit terrine seasoned by pistachio butter
