The positive reviews I had read over the last 12 months were confirmed. For a mid-week visit the restaurant was bustling, and we had the impression this was the norm. Friendly service, very tasty food - a good combination.

Everything was delicious, from hand made pasta to the sublime fish and excellent wine. Waiters are so kind and expert. The venue is nice and cosy. It's a perfect place if you want to eat well and spend a lovely evening!

About Mister Bianco

Sicilian satisfaction Mister Bianco in Kew isn’t just your average Italian restaurant. Chef and owner Joseph Vargetto draws upon his southern Italian heritage to bring traditional Sicilian cuisine to Melbourne shores. Share plates, known as ‘stuzzichini’ feature heavily for entrees, just the right size starters before the main event comes out. Vargetto has won several awards for his contemporary take on Italian fare – for example, his fried zucchini flowers come ‘in the mist’ and are served under a glass dome. Mister Bianco has garnered such a loyal following that there was previously an outcry when the standout beef cheek was dropped from the menu. Never fear: It was quickly re-added to appease the hangry crowd, and remains a best-seller to this day. It’s proof that Vargetto really listens to his customers – not only creating a menu according to their tastes, but also expanding his cult restaurant to include a spacious upstairs area, complete with a private dining room for hire. It’s amore at first bite! Best dish: Slow braised organic beef cheek in red wine, creamed spätzle and pickled radicchio
