No longer as good as it used to be. The food is at best average, and has lost the wow factor. Service is ok , but we were 2 of only 4 eating in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening. There are better Indian restaurants around.

Wine portions seemed strangely small, but meals were generously sized and good to the taste.

Butter chicken was delicious, but that's about it. Papadum was soggy, naan was soggy. Beef vindaloo was EXTREMELY salty we couldn't even finish a piece of the meat. Even dried salted fish is less salty than that. The owner offered to re-make that dish although we suggested that it wouldn't work because it is the meat itself that is salty, and not the sauce. Second lot came out, still as salty. She did offer to swap with another dish but we were already full by then so we decided not to waste another serve of food. I can't believe she still charged us for the beef vindaloo! The shop itself feels really musky. Only two tables occupied that night, and I can see why. Never coming back.

Very quiet for a Saturday night. Not many people there. We were 6 and we all agreed that it was pricey for the amount of food we ordered. Food was ok.

Not sure if this restaurant has changed owners but it fe,t different than before. Some table service and a large group having a buffet which crowded restaurant with people getting up and down. A screaming child for the whole time was intolerable. Other diners around us felt the same. The parents did nothing to manage this and neither did the staff. They should have been asked to take the child outside until it could be calmed. Clearly the parents weren’t going to do it.

About Metro Indian Restaurant

City Slicker Metro Indian Restaurant is located in the bustling hub of Subiaco, an area renowned forits restaurants. The Metro manages to stand out through its friendly service, passion for modern Indian cuisine and comprehensive menu that is bound to have something to cater for even the fussiest of foodies. The decor is modern with striking light fittings and purple accents and although it can accommodate large numbers of diners, it’s best to book as they can get busy. The venue caters for large groups and is a favourite with families. When ordering drinks, the knowledgeable bar staff are happy to whip up a cocktail or mixer to your taste. Soups are a particular specialty with the Northern Indian tomato shorba with besan and the traditional chicken soup (which differs from its Western counterpart through the addition of traditional spices) especially noteworthy. Another go-to dish for regulars in the know is the mixed seafood sizzler with prawns, scallops and fish fillets stir fried with capsicum, onion, tomato and chilli. Best dish: goat curry, which is hot and spicy and served on the bone and simmered until the ground authentic spices are absorbed.
