The service was appalling. We ordered a bottle of champagne, then had to eventually ask where it was as we could see it had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes. We ordered the banquet at $108 per head and told them that we wanted to take our time. The first 2 dumplings came together and we had barely finished when the duck arrived. We hadn't even taken a bit when the soup arrived. We told them to send it back and re-iterated again that we wanted to take our time. The 3 mains arrived all at the same time at which point we called the manager over to complain. She said she could take the dishes away and keep them warm which we declined telling her they would spoil. She shrugged.

food was gloriously tasty and fresh. amazingly diverse in choice. one group member is allergic to shellfish and staff were extremely sensitive and helpful in suggesting menu choices and conveying requirement to the kitchen. another member of group is vegan and again, support in food choice was very professional. the only negative was the smaller than expected alcohol amounts. glasses were small or underfilled with wine. i highly recommend it for atmosphere and quality.

About Man Tong Kitchen

Peking Duck Paradise It’s like walking into a palace when you enter Man Tong Kitchen in the Crown Casino complex. The rich red and gold colours, marble pillars, giant wooden lanterns and empty birdcages certainly make a grand impression. But when it comes to the food, it’s entirely approachable and familiar, making Man Tong just right for a big — and hungry — group of diners. That’s what Man Tong is all about, really — a full house of family and friends eating together, whether for a special occasion or just because. Man Tong gives you an excuse for a gathering with its authentic Chinese cuisine, which highlights different regions and cities of China. Start with some dim sum and dumplings. You can choose steamed, pan fried or deep fried. The appetisers don’t stop there. Go for the lobster or Chinese sausage before moving on to one of many soups, including a crabmeat sweet corn soup. If you’ve brought a group, order the Peking duck; it’s a signature dish not to be missed. Whatever your tastes, you’ll find plenty of options on the expansive menu at Man Tong. All the more reason to grab a group of friends and try a bit of it all. Best dish: Peking duck
