I'd been looking forward to dining at Longrain for a long time and our experience exceeded all expectations. The food was amazing - make sure to order the filled eggnet! The green curry beef brisket also melted in your mouth and had a super tasty curry sauce.

Excellent service. They even printed some documents that I needed urgently during dinner! Kudos

Food and service were good but for couples looking for a more intimate setting for a date, take note that the seating is shared amongst long tables.

Not your average Thai food! Definitely somewhere to go for a special occasion as it's pretty pricey but the food is absolutely delicious and serves are generous. The beef brisket green curry was a standout. Cocktails were pretty good too.

Food was delicious. Recommend the fried chicken and the lamb curry. Flavours were well balanced and authentic.

We ordered the banquet which has 6 courses including their popular betel leaf with pork and blue swimmer crab and caramelized pork hock. All the other dishes served were great. If any, I find the combination of the menu too "meaty". Our 2 mains were pork hock and beef curry. It would have been nice to include some seafood dish. Their black sticky rice dessert with banana mousse was out of this world. Light and not too sweet. Great way to end the mail. Highly recommend Long grain.

The food was lovely, however I had previously emailed that It was a birthday gathering for my son and unfortunately the restaurant did not acknowledge, so so that was a bit sad.

About Longrain

A terrific Thai tale Found on Surry Hill’s Commonwealth Street, Longrain is undoubtedly one of the best Thai haunts in the CBD, perhaps even Sydney. Longrain is the soul of southeast asian cooking - a perfect harmony between four essential elements: hot, sour, salty and sweet. The venue is loud with chatter while diners try to narrow down what dishes to order, but once the food is on the table, conversation stops. The food is simply that good. You’ll be in awe of the flavoursome dishes that burst with chilli, coriander and kaffir lime. The converted warehouse is dimly lit and provides you with everything you want from a killer restaurant. There are great vibes, plenty of space (although it’s always busy - every night of the week) and boy is it fragrant. Enough to make your stomach rumble and mouth water. Don’t starve yourself anymore. Time to tuck into some Thai. Are you with us? Best dish: filled eggnet, pork, prawns, peanuts, caramelised coconut, cucumber relish
