About Lezzet

Turkish Delights Headed up by young owner/chef, Kemal Barut is Turkish restaurant, Lezzet, pleasing diners with authentic dishes from Barut’s grandmothers Ankaran village. The Elwood eatery is a modern take on Turkey’s love affair with wood-fired and char-grilled dishes - think tasty Turkish bread and smoky dips, pizzas, fat dolma, slow cooked Ottoman lamb and plenty of other spice-filled meals that are guaranteed to tantalise taste buds and satisfy hungry bellies. Banquettes and wall rugs follow the Turkish pro-forma, but mood lighting and pressed linen take Lezzet far beyond the typical Middle Eastern mould. Check it out. Best dish: Ottoman slow cooked lamb

Great place but service was terrible on this occasion.

Food was quite good, we had a range of dishes across the menu. Our waiter however was all over the place and off hand. Delivered food menus but had to be asked for a wine menu. Took drink and food orders together without writing anything down. Brought the wrong wine, and poured it without showing the label. To his credit, replaced it promptly with the correct bottle. Service was somewhat brusque and hurried. None of us were sure if he was having a Basil Fawlty night or if this is usual behaviour. The waitress on the other hand seemed on the ball and very efficient.

Great place will defiantly go back. Food was fantastic 18 hour lamb was yum! Only complaint would be that partition next to out table kept wobbling was a bit annoying as people kept knocking it as they walked in.

I love this restaurant and have been here on a number of occasions. We had a lovely female waitress last night however I was disappointed with another member of staff who made us feel that anything we needed or asked for was a real hassle.. on a number of occasions.

Great meal, good value and we were all very happy with this venue. Host was relaxed and convivial and full of suggestions Would recommend and look forward to returning.

It can be as bustling as the Grand Bazaar at this ever-expanding Elwood eatery, which now straddles three shopfronts on busy Brighton Road. It gives culinary young Turk Kemal Barut more space to showc
