Very tasty and generous serves! Great if you want to over eat :) Food was all delicious and very relaxed. Will be back again for another banquet.

Tried a banquet for the first time which proved a great option when the decisions get too hard due to all the great choices.

Kamel is a great place to warm up quickly on a cold night. The front of house service is always welcoming and friendly and the food incredibly consistent.

The food was very average. It did not have any middle eastern flavours or spices. The restaurant even messed up a simple dish like hummus. The Persian pilaf had distinctive Indian spices and flavours instead of middle eastern. Unfortunately it wasn’t even good Indian! Whoever is cooking the food needs to get some middle eastern recipes and learn how to cook middle eastern dishes. The lamb and lentil parcels tasted like a meat pie! The service was sloppy and we sat with our dirty plates on our table until we asked for the bill. The waitress was standing behind the bar picking her nails and clearly could see we had finished. Will never go back! A waste of $100 and our Saturday night.

The express early banquet is fabulous - great flavours, good variety and very reasonable. Highly recommend it!

About Kamel

Something Special If you’re sick of tired old trips to pizzerias, pubs and bistros then it’s time you took a journey down to Albert Park’s Kamel. Here you’ll get a feast of Middle Eastern fusion food. Kamel is inspired by the cooking of northern and central Africa, as well as turkey and Greece. The interior of the restaurant is also quite a feast for the eyes too, with moody red walls and stained glass lamp shades. Monkey statues and ornamental shishas give this place a touch of the exotic while the beautiful modern beer garden gives it a contemporary flair. The best way to do Middle Eastern and African, according to the restaurant team, is to choose a banquet menu and let the experts handle the rest. This way, you’ll be treated to a wonderful array of the restaurant’s best offerings – without the bother of trying to pick from so many delicious-looking dishes! Must tries include their saganaki (fried haloumi cheese) and the Moroccan shish kebab. Finally, a bit of some relief from the boring old pizza and pub grub standard! Best dish: haloumi and oregano crumbed lamb cutlets on baba ganoush
