Kamel is a great place to warm up quickly on a cold night. The front of house service is always welcoming and friendly and the food incredibly consistent.

Amazing food that was delicious and very generous portions, great value for money. Service was casual but efficient and friendly. Front part of restaurant was lovely to eat in. Will definitely go back!

Very good value banquets

This is one of my favourite restaurants as the menu is not the usual run of the mill. Being close to the CBD it provides a good variety of dishes, the food is always good and better value than restaurants in the city centre.

Food, from a huge menu selection - always delicious. Good wine list. Service can be a little random, but always welcoming. Good choice for groups or families as there is something for everyone.

About Kamel

Something Special If you’re sick of tired old trips to pizzerias, pubs and bistros then it’s time you took a journey down to Albert Park’s Kamel. Here you’ll get a feast of Middle Eastern fusion food. Kamel is inspired by the cooking of northern and central Africa, as well as turkey and Greece. The interior of the restaurant is also quite a feast for the eyes too, with moody red walls and stained glass lamp shades. Monkey statues and ornamental shishas give this place a touch of the exotic while the beautiful modern beer garden gives it a contemporary flair. The best way to do Middle Eastern and African, according to the restaurant team, is to choose a banquet menu and let the experts handle the rest. This way, you’ll be treated to a wonderful array of the restaurant’s best offerings – without the bother of trying to pick from so many delicious-looking dishes! Must tries include their saganaki (fried haloumi cheese) and the Moroccan shish kebab. Finally, a bit of some relief from the boring old pizza and pub grub standard! Best dish: haloumi and oregano crumbed lamb cutlets on baba ganoush
