The credit card charge is high.

dined on Tue, 10 Oct 2017

- they charge extra 1.5% for credit card. I thought there would not be a fee considering it was an Amex promotion. -the only Thing worth there was the ramen - for a Japanese restaurant, the sushi was badly made. The rice kept breaking off everyone of them. 20 bucks for 8 pieces of sushi is quite pricey - salmon was ok but you have to order separate rice to eat with it - wine list and beer was very pricey but byo is only 2.50 so we went around to pacific square to buy a bottle of wine There were only 3 ppl working in whole restaurant so service was hard to get. They all looked younger 18 years old. Not sure why they charge so much. I would go back for the ramen but nothing else.

About Izakaya Goma

Is a YES From Me! Named after the Japanese word for “sesame”, Izakaya Goma is nestled among a number of other restaurants and retailers in the small beachside suburb of Maroubra. Dating back to Egyptian times some 3,600 years ago, sesame has always been prized for its medicinal benefits. And just like its namesake, the reputation of this modest casual Japanese eatery packs a sumo-sized punch, challenging any Spanish tapas lovers to a change of scene and culinary delights. As you’d expect, it’s all about fresh flavours here and in true Izakaya tradition, Izakaya Goma doesn’t disappoint. Large menus feature portraits of each dish making it easier to navigate the huge offerings. From the humble noodle, truffle oil green soybeans and stuffed fried chicken wings drizzled in Goma’s secret sauce, to the more intricately presented sashimi and sushi platters, each dish is generously prepared in a labour of love by Goma’s veteran chef. So next time you’re in the area, grab a friend and head down to pick your way through the Izakaya Goma menu. Must try: Wagyu Beinasu Kuromiso Dengaku (grilled eggplant topped with wagyu beef)
