We were a party of 4, catching up over dinner & drinks. Between us, we ordered 3 steaks & the pork ribs, 2 sides & 2 bottles of wine. The steaks were cooked to order & we had a fabulous time. The table service was great, along with the atmosphere of the restaurant. While it was relatively busy for a Wednesday night, the noise levels were acceptable to allow us to chat without having to scream at each other to be heard.

The cheese starter is very delicious. The mains were average, steak was overcooked asked for medium well and got well-done.

Hunter & Barrel never fails to serve us our favourite beef rump steak skewer in top quality. Whenever we feel like having steak, Hunter & Barrel is the first place that comes to mind. Keep up the great work!

We had a group birthday dinner here on Saturday night. The two Feast meat platter items on the menu made it easy to choose what to eat, which everyone chose over all of the a la carte options just for their simplicity and inclusions. They were also happy to oblige customised cocktail choices as well. Would recommend the Hunters Feast for two and the Pear Thief cocktail. Would definitely come back again.

Overall, it was a pretty decent restaurant in what is often a very touristy area. The group liked the variety of food and drinks options. The servings are a little small but overall, reasonable for the area.

Wanted somewhere special for my 50th. I chose the Hunter & Barrel because of the menu and other reviews. Portion sizes were good - not scant, but not too much. Meats were cooked to perfection. I don't mind spending good money on good food and service - this place delivered (it was a Monday evening). We had enough room for dessert - which was nice but the selection was quite limited. In summary - a small but well rounded menu, cooked brilliantly.
