Just regular yum cha fare, could do with more variety, or some “wow” factor.

Staff are old school Chinese so don’t expect pleasantries. One of the best yum cha places in Melbourne though when they have their act together. Like most places, when they’re busy, they cut corners on food quality, but most people wouldn’t notice it. Some of us are too fussy I guess.

Went there due to lack of Dim Sim places/ choices to choose from in Melbourne. Average service, pricey, hence doubt about the value..

Such a busy yum cha but service manages to be there just when you need. The food is delicious and because you choose your own of course you always love it! The wine list is inexpensive and well chosen.

About Gold Leaf Preston

A Bit of Hustle, a Bit of Bustle, and Plenty of Yum Cha If you’re looking for a bustling dining experience in Preston, not a quiet candlelit dinner, look no further than Gold Leaf. In the midst of lively conversation and a packed dining room, the Gold Leaf staff delivers when it comes to quick, attentive service. Bring an appetite and see what takes your fancy from a wide selection of dishes on constantly rotating trolleys, or order from the a la carte menu. The braised tofu deserves a mention, as do the scallop dumplings. Whether you’re feeling totally adventurous or a bit more traditional in your tastes, you’ll be spoiled for choice at this good value, casual restaurant (though vegetarians will find the choices rather limited). If you manage to take a breath in between bites of prawn and veg dumplings, look around to check out the spinning chandeliers and bright decorations. It’s a bit of a surreal experience - just as yum cha should be. Best Dish: Scallop Dumplings
