I'm not a regular at Gips, as to me it's more of a special occasion restaurant. So I haven't been in over 2 years. I do recall the food being exceptionally good, back then. However this time, although the food was good, it was not as exceptional. I would say, it was as good as most pub meals here in Toowoomba. Regretfully not exceptional/exquisite as it once was.

Excellent night out

Bar need to work on their cocktail making skills, was a little average. A little more veg could be added to each meal. the lamb literally has 2 tiny carrots.

Quiet effective service, delicate menu, beautiful presentation ...the way to spend a quiet celebratory dinner - it has never disappointed us.

Was quite nice - BUT, the heating in the restaurant is terribly insufficient. It was so cold in there. They only have 3 heaters which weren’t really doing much. It’s just clear plastic walls so the cold winter night air comes in. I mean it’s a nice room to dine in, but if your gonna do it like that in Toowoomba in winter - you need to have MUCH more heating.

Unfortunately it was a cood night and the heating struggled to keep up. A lovely evening with great food all the same.

About Gip's Restaurant

Relax in the beautiful garden on a sunny afternoon. At home in Toowoomba’s most historical building, Clifford House, Gip’s Restaurant was named after the historical owner’s much loved dog. You’ll immediately feel the peace and quiet in the beautiful garden courtyard at Gip’s. On a chilly day, head into the restaurant for a casual yet sophisticated dining experience. Open from breakfast to dinner, visit Gip’s at any time of day for a catch up with friends or quiet dinner with your partner. The menu is diverse and generous with hearty dishes from Bunya pork belly to beef cheeks served with caramelised onion risotto. The atmosphere at Gip’s is not one that can be easily replicated. Best dish: Roast Grimaud duck breast served with smoked sweet potato, brussel sprouts, speck, walnuts and sour cherry compote.
