Very hard to book a table. I tried to book for the weekend 5 days in advance but they were fully booked. I had to go on Wed. The food tastes nice, but is expensive.

The dessert was surprisingly terrific. A little bit pricy, but the service is second to none.

About Flower Drum

The complete Cantonese package.. In China, 'Flower Drum' is known as a traditional dance famous for its beauty and elegance. In Melbourne, it’s a similar story. ‘Flower Drum’ is a Chinese restaurant that displays the same elements of refinement and delicacy through their concept of fine dining Cantonese cuisine and dedicated service. Put simply, it’s a complete Cantonese package: the service is second to none, the food - well it’s outstanding and the classical dining room is thick with a ripe sense of occasion. Enjoy Cantonese classics such as duck wontons or fall-apart honey-braised pork ribs that come with two essential accompaniments – rice and a finger bowl. Native produce shines in dishes such as stir-fried pearl meat and the luscious, complex wallaby tail soup with wolfberries and yam, while the heavy-hitting wine list drips with prestige. Restaurants come - and some of them go, but none play exactly the same role as this one does. Best dish: fall-apart honey-braised pork ribs
