The inside of the restaurant is clean and tidy, very nice atmosphere. We ordered bread platter, curry chicken and fried rice and all of them are wonderful. The staff is helpful and advise use what we should order.

Sunday Buffet is much better value than ordering off the menu. Service was below average - there was one lady who was wonderful and helpful, but it was difficult to get service from the male staff. Glad we sat outside, inside was quite squished. Food was great and fresh.

Review questions don't actively sum up our experience. It's BYO which is 10 star to me, so only thing we had was water, and it was busy so it was just room temp tap water. Service wasn't as necessary as it was a Sunday Buffet all you can eat. Just sit at your table and go get the food. No real service required at each table. Dirty plates were taken away quickly and there was HEAPS of food that didn't stop. Was a good atmosphere, it was nice and busy, buffet was great, food was fantastic authentic Sri Lankan with HOPPERS! Value for money, $18 for kids for buffet seemed a bit high as they didn't eat much as it was a bit too spicy for them.

The atmosphere and staff were extremely helpful and the food was great. Nothing we asked for was any trouble for them and we had a great time.

About Fire & Spice

Feeling hot, hot, hot! It's not often that you are able to source authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in Australia, but Fire & Spice on Old Cleveland Road in Coorparoo have finally answered that prayer! With a charming dining room full of greenery and walls adorned with traditional Sri Lankan paintings, this restaurant also extends out onto the street and into a lovely alfresco area for outdoor dining. The space is ideal for a casual and inexpensive meal with friends and can also accommodate large groups of people for a bigger gathering or celebration. The restaurant tends to be busy creating a lively atmosphere. Service is friendly and fast with the waitstaff taking their time with diners to explain the various dishes to them. Fire & Spice live up to their namesake by serving authentic Sri Lankan food with a really spicy kick to it! Some of the dishes are certainly not for the faint hearted. Highlights on the menu include the Lamprais (rice, fish cutlet, eggplant and prawn garnished with cashew nuts), the Vegetarian Biryani and the Traditional Goat Meat Curry. On some evenings the restaurant will host a large buffet service, offering guests an opportunity to sample some of those dishes that they may have been to wary to order previously. Servings are generous and the price for the food is very reasonable. Best dish: Lamb Kothu Roti - chopped roti cooked on an open grill along with a variety of vegetables and sauces.
