Loved the name “Ester”, reminded me of the good old days of Chemistry lesson in my high school/ uni... if U like chargrilled taste in dishes, this resto is for U.

Dinner or lunch at Esther is one of those very special dining experiences. The food is presented in unusual but still accessible ways - this means also delicious - and the service completes the experience with informed and passionate staff making sure you can fully appreciate each dish. Delighted to introduce this restaurant to friends and I will be back at every opportunity.

Had a great birthday dinner at Ester. With help from our waiter we picked the perfect amount of food - he helped decide where we needed 2 servers of a certain dish as there was 6 of us dinning & was right we should have ordered 2 oysters per person they were AMAZING! Also we didn't go over the top on wine so I was pleasntly surprised with the price per person. I'd recommend for another special occasion.

Really liked the atmosphere, and the service. We got recommended a few wines to match our dishes, the matching was great and very interesting. Favorite dishes of the night were the bug and the king prawns, and we loved the left over sour dough ice cream.

About Ester

Ester-mania... Much-loved by Chippendale's multimedia creatives, Ester restaurant is seriously smokin’ hot...in more ways than one. Not only does this quirky eatery reign in the diners but it dishes out some seriously delicious share plates (all smokin’ hot), whipped up in a massive red hot wood fire oven that sits at the heart of the kitchen. With the oven the focus of much of the cooking, the chefs are trying to get everything touched by it, somehow. Anything from fish, chicken, lamb, duck, steak and even blue swimmer crab will come from the flaming hot oven. Try the half-head of cauliflower roasted until charred and served on a creamy almond emulsion with fresh mint (it’s absolute perfection!) and save room for a spoonful of caramel semifreddo for dessert (you won’t regret it). The space is an absolute charmer, wrought from rendered concrete, painted steel and glass. It’s the perfect place for a drop-in, sit at the bar style meal or a book-ahead, wine and dine with friends type of occasion. Ester has gone back to basics cooking principles and it’s paying off, this contemporary diner will be smokin’ hot for a long time to come. Best dish:half-head of cauliflower roasted until charred and served on a creamy almond emulsion with fresh mint
