Best value chef’s menu, full stop. Food is unpretentious but the sophistication is in how it’s so extremely well executed and flavours and textures are spot on.

The place was fantastic! Even though it resided in a small street and wasn't very obvious from the outside, the decoration inside gave you this mysterious and intimate feeling. We tried the set menu at $88 per person, every dish was wonderful! There weren't any dishes that I felt was unnecessary. The service was great - only issue is sometimes they can get a bit too busy. But overall 100% must-try!

Went with the set menu and everything was amazing. Favourites were the King Prawns (Only in the set menu if I’m right), Blood Sanga and Jerusalem Artichoke. Those were the standouts for me but everything else was amazing! Service on the other hand wasn’t great, they missed out one of our starters and not once did we got asked if everything was alright. They were probably really busy anyway. Was definitely a good experience and will definitely be back!

Bit of a foodie heaven, perhaps not for everyone, no great views etc, just great innovative food. Second visit and still impressed. Love the potato bread, the burnt edges give great flavour, yes stodgy, but it potato bread what do you expect. Had the salt baked fish, excellent. Intricate tastes with perfect fish. Decent size portions.

Ester-mania... Much-loved by Chippendale's multimedia creatives, Ester restaurant is seriously smokin’ hot...in more ways than one. Not only does this quirky eatery reign in the diners but it dishes out some seriously delicious share plates (all smokin’ hot), whipped up in a massive red hot wood fire oven that sits at the heart of the kitchen. With the oven the focus of much of the cooking, the chefs are trying to get everything touched by it, somehow. Anything from fish, chicken, lamb, duck, steak and even blue swimmer crab will come from the flaming hot oven. Try the half-head of cauliflower roasted until charred and served on a creamy almond emulsion with fresh mint (it’s absolute perfection!) and save room for a spoonful of caramel semifreddo for dessert (you won’t regret it). The space is an absolute charmer, wrought from rendered concrete, painted steel and glass. It’s the perfect place for a drop-in, sit at the bar style meal or a book-ahead, wine and dine with friends type of occasion. Ester has gone back to basics cooking principles and it’s paying off, this contemporary diner will be smokin’ hot for a long time to come.
