The food was lovely and the service was excellent. I love the look of the place especially the lounges. The only criticism is that it was very noisy but that may have just been the table we were next to who seemed to be having a wonderful time.

Rather cold in dining area. If the door to the outside requires to be open for staff maybe turn heaters on the inside.

We really enjoyed our evening here. My husband wears hearing aids and often cannot hear much of the conversation when dinning out, but this was not the case at this venue.

Very amateurish Need Gordon Ramsay to sort it out
I am sorry that your experience at The Clarendon Arms was not what you were expecting, if I could have some more information about when you dined and what you ate I will be certain to address any issues that may have occurred. Regards Lydia Nettlefold

Party of 7. Had booked. Not offered water for the table. Had to ask for menus - waited over 30 minutes. Received meals 1 hour and 15 minutes from booking time. 2 meals - fish and chips, fish was frozen and chips cold. Salad was brown and limp. No one checked in re meals. I refused to pay for the fish and chips - completely inedible. We won't be coming back.
I am very sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience at The Clarendon Arms. I was under the impression that our front of house staff immediately offered not to charge you for the fish. I am also surprised hear about the state of the salad, which I will look in to. Last Sunday was the busiest day we have ever had which could explain the problem with the fish but it is still no excuse for bad service. My apologies Lydia Nettlefold

About Clarendon Arms

The Clarendon is a beautiful cosy bar that's perfect for a few cosy quiet ones and a delicious family meal. The decor is old school and extremely comfortable, emanating distinct English pub vibes throughout. The menu is crafted from local produce, offering a number of traditional pub style dishes, think large roasts, pies, rich soups and beautiful burgers. Don't forget to save room for the traditional bread and butter pudding with butterscotch sauce! There's also a great selection of beers on tap and a good wine list too. Best dish: Aged Tasmanian Porterhouse steak with fat chips and Clarendon Arms pepper corn jus
