Ciao Cello have moved into a beautiful new premises @ the old court house in Port Melbourne. Not only has the restaurant expanded but so too has the menu. The new additions are great especially the oxtail ragu & Bistecca.

About Ciao Cielo

Italian for love From the front windows pops Ciao Cielo’s 1940s art deco style, looking all the parts of a little slice of Europe. Atmospherically lit with walls adorned with mirrors and vintage black and white portraits, Ciao Cielo is one of Port Melbourne’s best kept secrets, a cosy neighbourhood gem that is the perfect place to spend a romantic dinner or catching up with a friend. And the menu is equally as elegant. A petite menu of lovingly cooked Italian dishes is on offer. Delicious entrees such as the herby calamari or the zesty bruschetta are a fine start. Traditional gnocchi and spaghetti dishes get their own distinct approach of flavour (the potato gnocchi with roast pumpkin and walnut is a big step up – sorry Nonna!). There’s a neat little choice of meat dishes for something more substantial, such as the steak or BBQ quails, but methinks the slow roasted lamb shoulder’s where it’s at. With thoughtful staff to put you at ease, this sure to make for a special night out where one can share old memories and make new ones. Best dish: lamb shoulder
