Value for money

The food was fantastic, although serving services on the larger plates were still quite small.

We dined at cantina on cinque de mayo and took advantage of the taco and margarita specials. The food was great and service and atmosphere is always good.

Food wasn't value for money. No depth of flavour to the dishes. I chose a selection of tacos as the mains didn't interest me. The Baja taco was quite bland. The slaw had no dressing. The pork taco was nicer but the pineapple salsa could have been much better. I'd like to go back during happy hour or a specials might to try more of the menu.

Great night. Fantastic food and wine selection. Service was wonderful. Cocktail selection was great and nice to have the 5-7pm happy hour. Tacos and chilli fries a must!!

Great food, excellent service and nice atmosphere

We all chose the Chef's special, so was hoping for some really good yummy food. Unfortunately, apart from the nachos and sweet chilli chicken tacos it was really disappointing. Especially 'make your own tacos' was very bland, the pork was dry and tasteless and what they called a pineapple salsa wasn't. No flavour and no kick to most of the dishes. To end we were handed a chilli chocolate mousse, which was runny chocolate with a hint of chilli. Sorry, won't be coming back until you deliver some proper mexican food!!!!!

About Cantina

We can’t stop, we won’t stop. Booze, beats and liquid treats. Cantina is a cohesively chaotic eatery, bar and bottle shop located in the basement of St Kilda’s iconic Prince Of Wales. Feast on loaded nachos and juicy twice cooked lamb ribs, or wrap your mouth around the Texas brisket and bacon cheeseburger with chilli fries. Wash it all down with an extensive menu of smoky cocktails, hard liquor sips and beers from afar. Best Dish: Braised lamb & 3 cheese enchilada w. chimichuri
