I was very disappointed with this experience. I took the trouble when booking via Dimmi (a week or so before the dinner date) to lodge a special request to be seated upstairs near a bay window which I saw on the restaurant website. The restaurant called me the day prior to the dinner to advise that the upstairs was for functions only. I said, no problem, and asked them to please just seat us near a window downstairs. I arrived on the night to find that of the three couples dining, we were the only ones who were seated in a dark corner and not at a window. It made the night an unhappy one for me, even though the waiter was very good. I doubt I will return.
Hello Andrew thank you for your feedback We only use the upstairs area for functions as they are seperate dining rooms. We have various window seats looking over out of our heritage building in north Sydney and most tables of 2 have a window. Wr apologise if you missed out on this but feel free to let us know at any time that this us your preference and we will move you immediately. We are here to give you an excellent dining experience and we will work with diners to ensure this (if we get feedback at the time).

The barramundi that I had was beautifully cooked and well presented. There wasn't a long wait for the the food to come out. Great service and a very pleasant room in which to dine.

About Cala Luna

Mediterranean Soul If you love dining in a homey atmosphere with staff that feel like family, then Cala Luna is the place for you. Cala Luna started out as a family affair, when migrant chef John and his two sons brought the flavours of Italy down to Queensland with them. Their cuisine was inspired by traditional recipes passed down from family, as well as other dishes from the regions in southern Italy. Since then, the restaurant has changed hands – but the spirit of the original owners lives on. Their values? Dishing up authentic homey Italian food with a welcoming smile. Here, you’ll find pizzas and pastas done in true Italian style. Starters include richly flavoured seafood such as squid croquettes and Hervey Bay scallops. As for the mains, they’re all about the blend of classic herbs, fresh vegetables and hearty meats. The simple yet traditional flavours are divine! And they even do some classics just for the kids. At Cala Luna, even the service is reminiscent of Italy, with welcoming hosts that are always up for some friendly banter. Cala Luna is the kind of place you’ll want to go back to. Best dish: Tagliato di vitello
