Riverside dining They recommend booking at Brasserie on the River, and no wonder – the views across the Brisbane River are a real drawcard, and not just for hotel guests at the Stamford which the restaurant is part of. Punters also flock here for the buffet featuring seasonal specials such as king prawns and oysters, cold and hot dishes and two roasts from the carvery along with an extensive dessert selection including Australian cheeses with nuts and dried fruit. There is also an a la carte menu option (dubbed the ‘Irresistible’ and no wonder, with fare such as Mooloolaba king prawns and wagyu beef burger on offer), and the ever-popular ‘Brisbane Morning Tea’ served alfresco on the terrace – all elegance and sophistication with dainty delicacies served on a tiered silver stand.
