The occasion was a birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special.

Fantastic place, beautiful views. I would travel an hour and a half just to come back!!

sunday buffet prices have gone up and considering the price along with smaller buffet selection compared to other hotels makes it not really worth while. if you want a quieter spot and dont mind paying premium prices then this is for you .

Excellent seafood.

Food selection was greatly reduced since our last visit. No cold meats except salami. Very few tomatoes in the salads. For the higher price now being charged some smoked salmon would have been appreciated. Oysters and prawns were good quality. Coffee could have been hotter. Ice cream bar was good and very nice. Hot meat dishes except for the fish were quite tough and dry.

Terrible food. Truly terrible. Even the bread was stale.

About Brasserie on the River

Riverside dining They recommend booking at Brasserie on the River, and no wonder – the views across the Brisbane River are a real drawcard, and not just for hotel guests at the Stamford which the restaurant is part of. Punters also flock here for the buffet featuring seasonal specials such as king prawns and oysters, cold and hot dishes and two roasts from the carvery along with an extensive dessert selection including Australian cheeses with nuts and dried fruit. There is also an a la carte menu option (dubbed the ‘Irresistible’ and no wonder, with fare such as Mooloolaba king prawns and wagyu beef burger on offer), and the ever-popular ‘Brisbane Morning Tea’ served alfresco on the terrace – all elegance and sophistication with dainty delicacies served on a tiered silver stand. Best dish: Seafood Buffet!
