We booked via Dimmi and received a 30% discount, this caused a whole heap of problems. The restaurant generally permits groups of 8+ to order only from the set menu in order to better manage service, however because we had an offer we were advised we would all need to order separately, which *would* have been better... except the kitchen clearly could not handle a party of this size ordering a la carte. Service was slow in general, we had to ask to order drinks a few times. Starters arrived individually a few minutes apart so were eaten separately (to avoid being eaten cold). Mains were better, but we still had sides arriving as we'd almost finished. A cocktail on the menu said it is made with rum, but is actually tequila and I was made to feel quite uncomfortable asking to have it taken off the bill (no one else wanted it, not very nice anyway - although the rose and cardamom martini is LUSH). I had rang ahead and asked if they split bills and was advised they did, however when we went to pay I was told they couldn't because we had used an offer. I organised the evening as I'm part of quite a big curry club who go to new places and member's favourite restaurants monthly, I was really disappointed this event was such a wash out. The food is good, and I'm sure for a date or something it'd be great, but I think just don't offer discounts then treat customers differently for using them, and don't take bookings you can't handle without compromising so heavily on service.

Unfortunately this was not one of our best experiences at Bombay Street Kitchen. We have been here before and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves many other times so we haven't quite given up on them - they are a nice affordable place to eat at, and usually the food is quite good. Unfortunately today the food was off the mark. We came here on a $20 off redemption from Dimmi and ordered two curries that are usually really good, the konkani prawns and lamb saagwaala. We also ordered two naans, cheese and spinach and kashmiri. The lamb saagwaala was fine but the prawns were quite off. The sauce was ok but the prawns themselves were tough, as if they'd been really overcooked - like someone had cooked them before then had re-cooked them for us. We ended up discussing whether we'd got someone else's re-done dish. Also, the kashmiri naan is usually a favourite but it was lacking in taste. Usually there is more in the way of the sultanas etc filling the bread, but it looked almost like plain bread with just a hint of the fruit. We were rather disappointed with this below average performance. However we hope it's just an anomaly because usually the place is good. We might be willing to come here once again to see whether the food getting worse is a pattern or a glitch. We hope higher standards are restored next time we visit.

it was great value with the 30% off deal, we paid under $20 each for 3 friends. The butter chicken was amazing as well as the naan and dahl, lots of food and really tasty, would recommend for a casual mid-week night out.
