It was the perfect pre-theatre venue. Live jazz was an added bonus. Great to have attractive & substantial vegan options as well as great meat dishes.

They seem to change the menu too, so you can keep going back - we will. Location is perfect for MTC and Malthouse pre-theatre and pre/post NGV

A restaurant very geared to pre-theatre dining, but if you tell them you're in for the long haul, they will slow things down a bit. Interesting food, limited wine list, good service

Had a great pre-theater dinner. The food and service were excellent. The wine list is a bit limited, but adequate. We will continue to visit regularly.

About Blondie

No debutante Set in Melbourne’s busy Arts Precinct, Blondie Bar at Southbank is located in the Melbourne Recital Centre, and its near neighbours are the Melbourne Theatre Company and the National Gallery of Victoria. So, if you’ve been working hard on your arts and culture, you can refresh yourself and revive your lagging spirits with a bite or a brew. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesdays to Sundays (although you should always check as they regularly update their opening hours), Blondie offers Asian-inspired cuisine to its patrons. With selections for snacks, lunch, cocktails and dinner there is bound to be a bite that will satisfy your cravings. Lunch offers a selection of small plates if you want to eat on your own or large plates for sharing. Try the slow-cooked pork and potato croquettes with pineapple chutney aioli. Alternatively, you could succumb to the chickpea fritters with cucumber salsa, peanut satay, chilli-honey and coriander. Best dish: Alaskan king crab - ‘Deadliest Catch’ crab with a sweet and sour vinegar and lime coconut whip
