The 5 course tasting menu is excellent and the paired wines even better!

As always a great experience, plenty of choice on the menu, good service for a pre-theatre meal, great wines and a consistent experience every time we visit.

Fantastic food and wine pairings with the chef's menu. As ever the food was interesting and well executed and the wine pairings opened our mind to things we hadn't tried before, without getting too 'out-there'. We will keep coming back to this friendly favourite.

Just had the 5 course Chef's Menu which is excellent value on a Tue/Wed evening. Whilst not every course was to my personal taste, the entire meal was creatively designed, well constructed and beautifully presented.

About Bishop Sessa

Cheers to the good bishop Bishop Sessa offers an affordable dining experience filled with French bistro classics done with some of the best local and seasonal produce around. The whole place screams of passion and comfort, from the personal accounts inserted into the wine list, to the integrity of the produce and genuine smiles on the faces of everyone who works there. Despite so many eating options on Crown Street (let’s face it, that place is full-to-gunwhales) Bishop Sessa manages to draw in the crowds with their nose to tail philosophy and super affordable tasting menu ($69 for six courses). Founded by chef Paul Cooper together with industry stalwart Erez Gordon, the Bissop Sessa menu showcases some of the best local produce available, with pork from Melanda Park, Swallow Rock Reach (NSW), lamb from Milly Hill, New England (NSW) and organic Wagyu from Gundooee Organics in Dunedoo (NSW). Sides of pig, beef and lamb are aged and butchered on the premises. Sustainable seafood and Cooper’s trademark desserts complete the experience. Best dish: The cracking good charcuterie board ($34 for two), with a power-packed chicken liver parfait, intense and rustic pork terrine, duck rillettes, duck breast prosciutto and some impressive house made pear chutney.
