We really enjoy the Scarf evenings and try to go to each new one - they give us the opportunity to try new and different venues while also giving new hospitality staff the opportunity to test their new skills. We had the croquettes ( crisp on the outside & lite & fluffy on the inside ) delicious and I had the pork cutlet that was cooked to perfection as too were the potato bravas - we look forward to the next installation of Scarf where ever it may be 👍🏼

The Scarf meals are great because they are supporting people with hospitality experience, that needs to be taken into account as there were some errors and unusual service behaviours, but that's all part of the learning. Get on board and support a good cause and enjoy some lovely food at great venues.

Really love the Scarf Experience, seeing the mentors and trainees working together and having the Scarf Story on the menus to read and the cards introducing and giving a little 'backstory' for all of the trainees. Just a wonderful enterprise that everyone should book in for.

Great night, perhaps a different table may have been a little better given how early the booking was made.

We attended a Scarf Community Dinner as a group and were very impressed with the young people trying so hard to make it in this industry. Well done to Robert Burns Hotel for supporting this fabulous program - I will be coming back!

Secure Your Booking - Credit Card Required

Scarf bookings now work on a prepaid “ticketed” system, as we have a finite amount of places available at each dinner. This approach helps safeguard us against last-minute cancellations, which have a significant impact on our program’s viability. Please note that tickets to Scarf Dinners are non-refundable. One ticket to a Scarf Dinner is $40 per person, which includes a two-course set menu: entrée and main, with choices in each course. Upon booking, your credit card will be charged ($40 x amount of places you book). Scarf is fully licensed; a range of drinks and desserts will be available on the night. Any drinks or desserts you order will be billed on the night. We have EFTPOS facilities, so you may pay via debit card, credit card or cash. Please note that if you have a Scarf Dinners Gift Certificate which you plan to redeem, you do not need to pre-pay. You will need to book in by emailing Mel (bookings@scarfcommunity.org). Please provide the following details in your email: Name and contact number, preferred date, preferred time, number of people, dietary requirements and value of gift certificate. As we are a social enterprise, we have significant operating costs, including paying our trainees a wage, and paying our partner restaurants for confirmed catering numbers. This prepaid, “ticketed” bookings system and policy has been introduced due to an increasing number of cancellations, which significantly affect our bottom line and threaten our program's viability. The policy safeguards us to ensure we have the income required to cover trainee wages, catering costs, and the myriad expenses that come with running a sustainable social enterprise. You will receive a confirmation email shortly with more details about your Scarf Dinner. Please ensure that you forward the email to all other parties who will be dining with you on the night! If you require any more information, please contact us at bookings@scarfcommunity.org.

About Autumn Scarf Dinner

Do More Than Dine Scarf is a social enterprise which partners with Melbourne's best restaurants to provide hospitality training, mentoring and employment to young refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants. Scarf Dinners offer a two course set menu (entree & main) for $40 per person, as well as a fantastic wine list. The cooking is taken care of by the partner restaurant chefs, and the front-of-house service by Scarf's trainee waiters and their mentors. Please note that bookings work on a ticketed system and pre-payment is taken upon booking. Scarf Dinners happen in different partner restaurants each season. Please refer to www.scarfcommunity.org to find out the current Scarf Dinners location.
