The place was very noisy on a Saturday night... not conducive to a quiet chat! The moussaka was OK, but not as good as Hellenika. Calamari very good, as were the mushrooms. Drinks prices reasonable, and a good retsina.

About Athenia Restaurant & Bar

The Goddess of Food Most believe the Parthenon on the Acropolis was built for the Greek goddess Athena…or was it a mere typo? Perhaps it was the goddess Athenia that should have been worshipped for her commitment to Greek culinary culture. Thanks to owner Majid who takes pride in building his baby to being the number one Greek restaurant on the gold coast, Athenia Restaurant & Bar in Carrara boasts some spectacular highlights. While overlooking the sweeping views of Emerald Lakes, you can indulge on entrees like gluten free Zucchini fritters, gorge on a classic souvlaki or devour the signature kleftiko: a succulent lamb on the bone slowly cooked with garlic, white wine, potatoes, baby onions… Even Zeus isn’t strong enough to resist that one! Of course if you fancy yourself a god or goddess, then demand The Mezze – the ultimate Grecian banquet. If you know your Greek desserts you’ll only have the difficulty of choice: go the combo of baklava, halva and pistachio ice cream (if you have room of course). You can always make room and throw yourself into Zorba’s dance. Yasou! Best Dish: Chicken Delight
