Great venue, great food, great staff, but disappointed in the lack of Shiraz available in a State that is world renowned for this wine. This would not prevent me from returning, but it is a bugbear of mine and other restaurants in Adelaide do the same.

Second time to Apothecary and it didn't disappoint. Tasting menu a highlight, everything tasted amazingly fresh. Extensive wine list. Great service. Will be back again

Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely ambience. Food was enjoyable but not mindblowing but nothing wrong. Pork bubble was a bit weird, just deep fried fat really. Pork Belly was perfect. Enjoyed the evening. Dessert choices could be better.

Unexpected fine dining restaurant in Hindley Street. The feed all tasted great and the wine last was fantastic, we were able to enjoy a beautiful French bottle of champagne. Will certainly be visiting again.

We had the Chefs Shared Dining Experience and it was absolutely amazing.

This was our second visit to Apothecary, the first time was 2 years ago and we enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately not as much this time, not sure if it's changed hands. Although the atmosphere and service was lovely our mains were not up to our standard for the price. Our starters were good, but we won't be in a hurry to return

About Apothecary 1878

Medical miracle At Apothecary 1878 you can enjoy one (or two glasses) of top South Australian tipple and graze all evening on some seriously superior food. The name “Apothecary”, reflects the 133 year-old gold in-scripted, mahogany pharmacy cabinets which decorate the front bar space. In the dining room, rustic brickwork lines the walls, and some 1200 bottles lie quietly waiting behind intricate wrought iron work… ready to be sampled. Examine the intricate European-style menu and get ready for a taste bud sensation. (Just make sure you save room for the cheese and dessert menu). Whether it’s an intimate dinner for two, a night of extended dining or a major function, The Apothecary is just the remedy the doctor ordered! Best Dish: chargrilled wild venison, roasted plum, juniper, celery & horseradish custard.
