Beautiful food in a beautiful setting. Always a favourite place for us to enjoy a meal with views. The cold weather allowed us to enjoy the ambiance of the wood burning stove while dining. Desserts are always the best part of the meal and the Chocolate fondant with salted caramel gelato was exceptional!

About Amanda's on the Edge

Paddock to plate You might feel that the height of Aussie refinement has been reached when you’re perched on the veranda at Amanda’s on the Edge, gazing out across the vineyard to the gumtrees and paddocks in the distance, a glass of local Hunter Valley chardy within arm’s reach. A momentary distraction comes in the form of the menu and you’re temporarily thrown into turmoil as you attempt to choose between a rack of lamb with roasted vine tomatoes and a crispy skinned duck breast. Both are cooked simply, making the most of local produce, and rely heavily on the premium flavours naturally bestowed on each ingredient. You begin to panic, searching for someone to help with this terrible decision and, of course, to bring you more wine. Luckily a smiling server swiftly recommends the Portuguese spiced spatchcock and all is right with the world. Under the guidance of your new waitperson/lifeline you move inside to a dining room lined with floor to ceiling windows and that glass of wine you were promised appears on your table without comment. It’s official: Amanda’s is your new home. Best dish: Rack of lamb with roasted vine tomatoes
